I love our front entry way and the opportunities it gives for decorating. Louis managed to keep his mouth shut as I made my entry. He did raise his eyebrows when he encountered me coming down the hall with a glue gun, glitter, and ModPodge. I was all ready to make our front lawn a cemetery with fog machine and sound effects, but time and budget restraints put a damper on that. There's always next year!
My overall theme is "vintage" inspired by the cute vintage postcards that I incorporated into my display.
Here is my wreath that can be made with a trip to JoAnne's, a glue gun, and computer printer:
Next was my Bat Tree with an arrangement of pumpkins and various touches:
I'd like to point out that I cut out all those bats myself. Took at least two programs of

My own Little Boo:
If Tyler can throw his kids into the display, so can I.
All this was done with 3 kids to

This owl is actual 1960's vintage. I have pictures of it in a bush at my parent's house to prove it.

Check out the other displays. Some are pretty cool.
p.s.- My owl on the porch is so much better than Ashley's or The Mostess' due to the fact that I got mine on SALE.

I LOVE your bat tree! It may be my favorite thing out of all the displays (that and your adorable owl--uh, owls!) And your pile of pumpkins is very bounteous and impressive--very very cute with the ribbon. This is perfect Halloween to me--CUTE and spooky but not gross and creepy! You have the perfect porch for displays. Also, cute wreath--I like how big your crow is. I too made a wreath with a crow but it was too small and underwhelms.
ReplyDeleteAGHHH! I am trailing behind Ashley--again! How is she commenting first all over the place?
ReplyDeleteI love the vintage and retro feel. I am going to do a similar scene in B's room when she's older. You know I may come and steal that owl in the night!
The wreath is super cute--love the little postcards.
Next year is going to rule. I can't wait to have the personalized graves!
How fun! I'm definitely impressed, not only with the effort, skill, and end product but that you were able to get anything done with the twins and the baby running amok! Well done, good work! Looking forward to seeing it in person.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute. Love your pumpkins with ribbons and even the white pumpkins. The bat tree is great too.
ReplyDeleteOoooh. I might have to vote for yours. All those pumpkins? And the ribbons on them? Adorable! And vintage Halloween cards? You're speaking my language.
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous! i dont know why everyone thinks owls make thewin.your wreath and bat tree are where its at... So original! Also looooove your ribboned pumpkins and touches of purple. The vintage poster, owl and kidlets make tough competition!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I seriously need to get my act together! ; )
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, super cute! I totally love it. My mini is afraid of most all Halloween decorations, but the ribboned pumpkins and vintagey everything is right up our alley. Way to go!
ReplyDeleteThe other displays are nice, but I like yours best. [Not that I'm biased, or anything.] Great job! I wanna come see it... It'll probably be gone by the time I get there for Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteCame to check out your display! I love it! It is so creative and definitely one of my favorites. I love the pumpkins and the bat tree the best, I think, but I love your vintage theme, too.
ReplyDeleteI never asked for that stupid hooter on my porch! It was dropped there by Ashley!
ReplyDeleteThat was The Mostess.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I see how much Kaari hated that hooter--putting a witch hat on it and making it her PDR!
ReplyDeleteAnd probably accomplished while B was napping!
ReplyDeletePDR my A**!!
ReplyDeleteB did sleep until like 12 that day. Ha.
