Sewing Project

We are all moved and trying to unpack. I'll post more on that later. But here is what I was doing in the evenings while waiting for our condo to sell before we could officially start packing. A friend asked me to post pictures.

It started out one night at church during a sewing enrichment class. I decided baby #3 should have a few new things of his own. I use to sew a lot before I got married but have not done much of anything the last few years. (oh yeah, I gave birth to twins) I sewed a lot for my friend's kids but sadly have not done the same for my own.

The project from church was making these two onsies:

Bubble Fish

Silly Monster

Since I had onesies left over I got inspired and made two for The Mostess, who is due with a girl a week after me. Louis then suggested that this kid needed something not so "babyish." And since he is having a love affair with his new phone at the moment, I came up with this:

But why should the new baby have all the fun? Meet the G00gle Android twins enjoying their new backyard.

Now that I've caught the sewing bug again I have some cute fabric to make Sarah a dress and another pattern to make overalls for Matthew. Because I have all the spare time in the world.

We are Two!

I've been meaning to get the twins photos taken professionally for awhile. I finally managed to accomplish this before they got any older. I love Meghan's pictures and have wanted her to take photos of the twins ever since someone from church showed me her site months ago. She is wonderful and takes the most beautiful pictures. Below are just some of my favorites. The Smilebox format doesn't do them justice. Go to her website to see her wonderful work. I'm still deciding on which ones I want prints made. I can't wait to have her take newborn and family pics once #3 arrives!
P.S- You can tell how much our kids love baseball. (Their dad is so proud!)

If the ipad says so, it must be true

The pregnancy application on my ipad says for 29 weeks, "Pregnancy hormones are also to blame if you have been feeling forgetful or spacey lately." (Oops, forgot to do the dishes!)

This is my reason if I forget to do one of the gazillion things on my list as we get ready to move.

Ten More Days For One More Milestone

This morning, I filled out yet more sheets of paper and sent off a good chunk of cash to cover 20% of our new home. It's one of the many steps required to take us from our crowded condo that is nearing the end of its useful life (for us anyway), setting us on the path to what's next - a bigger home built to hold a growing family with growing kids like ours. Should the calendar fall into place as would be most fantastic, we could be fully moved ten days from today.

Just ten more days to finish paperwork, trade housekeys, pack, move, turn off utilities, turn on utilities, and start again in a new place, wondering if any loose ends are preparing to trip us up.

Matthew and Sarah don't really know that we are moving. They get the idea that there is a "Baby" in their mom's tummy, and that will present its own surprises (in a few months, we hope), but telling them of our new place has been pretty useless. In the next few days, as more and more possessions morph into brown boxes with scrawled black felt tip marker and tape, this could change, and they will know something has changed. Then, ten days from now, they will wake up in one place and go to bed in another, never to return.

One goal I have is to reduce the amount of physical labor my 7-months pregnant wife will have to endure, besides the daily routine of corralling kids. We're "going pro" on the moving company this time, and we'll pay to get someone else to pack, so she can sit back and keep her feet off the floor. I have a feeling the dollars we lose on that move will be less needed than her energy when it comes to the whole process.

But we're down to ten days, and starting tomorrow, we're in single digits - numbers the twins can count down with me.

Counting Down

29 weeks
10 weeks to go seems like a long time but will go really fast considering we need to get packed, moved and a nursery set up. Otherwise this little guy will be sleeping in the laundry basket. Actually, Louis' grandmother said that's what they did for their first baby since it was so much cheaper than a bassinet. (no thanks)

Meanwhile....
We're so happy when Daddy comes home.

High Tolerance?

I come home at 2:30 am from the midnight showing of "Eclipse" (very fun by the way) to find this by the sink. Now, I'm not complaining or anything. I just find it amazing that Louis can consume this and one more (next to the bed) and then go to bed and sleep soundly. One drop of caffeine after 8 pm and I'm wide awake all night. I guess we all have our talents.
