Twin Tuesday: Behold, the Crib Tent

Since Little Miss Escape Artist refuses to stay in her crib, this is our latest purchase. We had turned her crib around so the lower side faced the wall. This did keep her in but made it awkward to get her in and out on the side. That, and the fact the back of her crib is solid instead of slats made it impossible for her to see Matthew. They like to have long, meaningful conversations before falling asleep and this made her unhappy. So her crib tent is working well so far. When she saw me first turning her crib back around she was quite happy. And then I went and put this tent on the top. Not a happy camper as you can see.

But if teaching school taught me anything it was to say no, ignore the complaining, and not feel guilty. So after about 5 minutes of protesting, she lay down and went to sleep.
Matthew gave her moral support.

Hopefully she won't smuggle scissors into her jail and learn to cut her way out.

  1. I've been telling you for months--crib tent is the only way to go.

Now Ashley needs to get one on her Wild Thing's crib to stop his pantless Midnight escapes! :)

  2. Seriously, Kaari.

So it works huh? Give it a couple nights and then tell me if I need to buy that thing! Could be a lifesaver.

  3. We had one of those for our twin beds. We called it the "taco" bed, we LOVED it.

  6. What kind of tent did you get to fit on the solid back crib? We have that and I really need one of these!

  8. @ Anonymous-Since the back is solid and you can't wrap the flaps of the crib tent around I nailed them down along the back of the crib. I used small nails that had a large, wide head so they didn't pull off with pressure. This worked great and the crib tent stayed put and the kids never pulled them out.
